Good Friday

Filed under: Devotional Life — denisedayspencer @ 6:33 am

At the cross her station keeping

stood the mournful Mother weeping,

close to Jesus to the last…

Christ above in torment hangs.

She beneath beholds the pangs

of her dying, glorious Son…

Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled,

she beheld her tender Child

all with bloody scourges rent…

Let me mingle tears with thee,

mourning Him who mourned for me

all the days that I may live…

  1. Ah, so Catholic! LOL. If you have not already, you need to frequent the blog Pertinacious Papist. Blosser and your husband are both lifelines to me via the web, given the RC as I live it is a wasteland. Cheers. JM
