Happy birthday to me!

Filed under: Random ramblings — denisedayspencer @ 5:44 pm

Today is my birthday! Not just any birthday, mind you, but the big 5-0. Michael has been asking me for the past several days if I’m doing O.K. with this. So far, so good. Let’s hope I can keep up the positive attitude.

At present I’m just feeling special. I’ve already gotten a dinner at “Ruby Tuesday” with Michael and Clay, two really cool presents from Michael, e-cards from Clay and Noel, a happy birthday greeting in our daily school announcement sheet from Michael, three cards in the campus mail and several verbal birthday well-wishes. Michael’s promised me another small gift this evening, plus a birthday cake. Clay has e-mailed me directions for finding a hidden gift in his room that he put away for me before he went back to school yesterday. (This is like a treasure hunt!) And I’ve still got presents from my parents to open, too.

I’ll have more thoughts in a day or two. I trust I won’t be psychotically depressed by then.

  1. Happy Birthday to you! Wow. 50. From what my friends tell me the 50’s are even better than the 40’s. One of my friends celebrated her 50th year by having a special celebration on the date of her birth every month for that year. One month she had a pajama party for some girlfriends where they all got together, watched a movie and had fun.
