Random Ramblings

Our daughter's getting married in six days!

Yesterday Michael, Clay and I were sitting in a movie theatre, in the middle of one of the fast-paced action scenes of "X-Men III" and I suddenly choked on my own spit and began coughing uncontrollably. Choking on my own spit? I'm 49 years old! When do I get to begin acting dignified, for crying out loud? (Of course, one might argue that if I truly wanted to act dignified I wouldn't be sitting in "X-Men III" in the first place. But it was fun!)

Speaking of embarrassing moments, I've done this oh, so many times…

Is there anything more relaxing than being at a baseball game on a beautiful, twilight summer's eve? Go, Lexington Legends!

Have I mentioned that our daughter is getting married…in six days?!

  2. I really don’t think an “Inapplicable You Too” is such a big gaffe. If the thing the person is wishing you is something REALLY specific, like “I hope your foot surgery goes well”, then “You too” would sound silly. But if the wish is just general and ceremonial in nature, like “have a good workout” or “enjoy your coffee”, then I think it’s understood that “You too” is also just a general, ceremonial well-wish. I wouldn’t worry too much.
